We welcome you to the Web site (CookevilleCPChurch.org) for the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Cookeville, Tennessee. We are located on a busy, and often traveled street known as 10th Street. Many remember this as the Algood Highway. We have been in ministry at this location for just under 40 years. Before that, we were located on Broad Street, in down town Cookeville. In the early 1960’s the congregation, under the visionary leadership of the Rev. Logan Tilghman, decided to move “out of down town” and they purchased 7 acres of land at the present location. It was a difficult move – for 100 years the church had been located in down town Cookeville, but the congregation and pastor, sensing a growing community, and the need for more space, made the decision to move. So here we are. We believe that as an evangelical part of the body of Christ, we are to “Share Christ with the World and invite the World to Christ!” The best way to experience us is to worship with us. Worship services occur each Sunday at 8:45 AM and 11:00 AM. We would love to be a part of your spiritual journey. As you experience who we are we trust that you will become aware of our excitement. We offer not only information about who we are, but we share what we are doing, and how we are “doing” ministry. We share in the ministry of the community, and as best we can, we offer links to not only all of our church and denominational information, but information about our community involvement and other worthwhile activities. Thank you for visiting with us. Visit us often. If you have questions, contact us either by e-mail, or call us at (931) 526-6585. Grace and peace, Reverend Charles McCaskey |
