Tommie Jean Eads has served as our organist since 1988. She earned a B.A. in Education and Science from Trevecca Nazarene University, where she minored in Christian Education. She then attended TTU, where she earned an M.A. in Curriculum and Special Education. Tommie Jean taught science and special education in private and public schools for 43 years before retiring from Uffelman Elementary School in Monterey.
Music has always been an important part of Tommie Jean’s life. She studied piano as a child, played clarinet in the high school band, and later played the accordion for Christian work services in college. She studied organ with Guerry Teeple and Peggy Campbell.
In addition to her duties as our organist, Tommie Jean is a member of the Cumberland Ringers Handbell choir, and is active in the church’s Sonshine Circle and Joy Club. She is also an active member of the service organization F.C.E. (Family & Community Education) and A.D.K. (honorary teachers’ sorority).
