The Sanctuary Choir

Joy Rachor, director

Music and Drama

Our Sanctuary Choir is made up of 25 – 30 singers from varying walks of life who share their time and talents with one another and God as they unite their voices in praise and thanksgiving! They are a faithful, dedicated group who minister to each other by sharing one another’s burdens and celebrating one another’s joys.

The choir rehearses on Sunday evenings from 5:30 – 7:00, and sings for the 8:45 service one week and the 11:00 service the next, thus affording an opportunity for our entire congregation to experience their musical offerings. They sing repertoire of various styles from classical to contemporary, always with the goal of glorifying God while enhancing the worship experience for those in the congregation.

The majority of our rehearsal time is spent preparing music for Sunday morning worship services, however, we also enjoy presenting special musical services throughout the year. In addition to a cantata or musical drama each Christmas, the choir also plays a vital role in our annual Maundy Thursday service, as well as the Patriotic Service that is presented each summer.

The Sanctuary Choir is a close-knit community of faith, whose members are blessed with a love of singing and a desire to serve the church as musical messengers. Prior to the closing prayer at the end of our weekly rehearsals, a brief devotional is led by one of our members, and time is spent sharing prayer concerns. We feel fortunate to have such a loving, caring choir family.

Anyone who can “carry a tune” and feels called to share his or her musical talent is welcome to join this very special musical ensemble.
