Children

Spring is about to kick off even if it is still cold outside. Children's Ministry is ready to start it's new curriculum on the Fruits of the Spirit. We'll learn that no...the Fruit of the Spirit is NOT a coconut! Join us for a fun time on Sunday evenings and we'll grow in faith, TOGETHER!

-Sara, Director of Children's Ministries

The Cumberland Presbyterian Church has a large, active group of children and plenty of special activities are offered. There are graded church school classes that meet each Sunday with dedicated teachers and Bible Centered material. In addition, the Church offers a special Sunday Evening activity for children, K - 6th Grades. The activities begin each Sunday evening with two children’s choirs which meet at 4:45 PM. These choirs offer worship music many times during the year.   At 5:30 PM the children gather in the Jonnie Wright Fellowship Hall for an evening meal (cost is $1.00 per person). At 5:55 PM the children attend activities which included Bible Study, Crafts, and Recreation. At the end of the evening all the children gather in the Goodpasture Chapel for closing worship, and remain there until their parents pick them up at 7:00 p.m. Dr. Charles McCaskey writes the material for this activity and is assisted by Steve and Brenda Hayslette. Members of the church plan the meals.

At least once a year the Church offers a Pastor’s Class. This class is designed to expose children to the teachings of the Bible,  the church beliefs, and to increase the religious faith.
